Once again, Bruce-Grey Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker is accusing the Ontario Liberal government of ignoring rural Ontario.
Walker says after four months of inaction, the government revealed last week it has no intention of setting up an all-party committee to study the transportation needs in rural and Northern Ontario.
The local Conservative was shocked by the move, since his motion to investigate transportation troubles North of the GTA passed with unanimous consent in the legislature last fall.
Walker tells us two government ministers stood up in the House to say they will not honour the November 28th vote and they will not pursue a transportation study.
He says the flip-flop is typical of the Kathleen Wynne government’s arrogance and indifference to the needs of rural Ontario.
According to Walker, two million residents go without access to transportation and struggle with basic tasks because Queens Park can’t give them the time of day.
