The 24th annual Rotary Club of Port Elgin-Jeff Preston Golf Tournament will be staged today at Saugeen Golf Club. 

Among the prizes & auction items available will be a pro golf bag and hat signed by PGA tour golfer Corey Conners from Listowel courtesy of Steve Marshman and RBC golf. 


The Owen Sound Masters Lacrosse Club is hosting a 19 team tournament tournament this weekend.

Play starts tonight at 7 pm at both the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre & the Julie McArthur Regional Rec Centre.

Tournament play continues all day Saturday & climaxes with 5 games on Sunday.


Crime Stoppers Grey Bruce is holding a slo-pitch tournament fundraiser August 17 at Duncan McLellan Park in Owen Sound from 9 a.m. until 10:30 p.m.

Men’s and Co-ed teams are welcome to register. 

Teams are guaranteed three games, and registration is $275.

There will be a BBQ and beer garden, as well as a 50/50 draw.

The annual Wiarton Rotary Village Fair conducted by the Wiarton Rotary Club, is August 2nd-5th


The Softball Canada Under 19 Championship Tournament will be hosted in Owen Sound at the Duncan McLellan Park August 6th-11th

The banquet will be Monday August 5th at  6.30 P.M. at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre

The opening ceremony for the tournament  is Tuesday August 6th at 6.30 pm at Duncan McLellan Park.


The 2019 District 27 55+ Regional Senior Games will be hosted in Grey & Bruce Counties on Wednesday August 14th.

As many as 600 participants will be competing and participating in one of more than 50 events which will be hosted in 7 towns and municipalities in our region; Cargill, Chepstow, Chesley, Hanover, Mildmay, Paisley & Walkerton

The 23rd annual Meaford Scarecrow Invasion and Family Festival will feature a " Scarecrows’ Book Invasion "

The date and time for this year’s parade is Friday, September 27, starting at 6 p.m. on Sykes Street followed by a family festival at the Rotary Harbour Pavilion

The Georgian Bay Coyotes Track Club will be hosting their 9th annual Coyote Cross Country Race on Saturday, September 28th at the Georgian Bay Community School athletic field.

The race is open to all Grade JK-8 runners in Grey-Bruce.

There were more than 400 runners registered last year. 

There is a maximum of 500 runners that will be registered so we would encourage your athletes to register on-line at the Coyotes website,, as soon as possible in the new school year.

All race information will listed on our website by August 25th

The race distances are:
JK-SK = 800m 
Grade 1-2 = 1km
Grade 3-4 = 1.55km
Grade 5-6 = 1.95km
Grade 7-8 = 2.92km

There is no entry fee, but we do encourage a “free-will donation” to our club at the entrance to the race site to help cover some of our race costs. 

Race entry deadline is Wednesday, September 25th and there is no race-day registration. 


The 2019 Bob Atkinson Memorial Cross Country Meet for Bluewater West athletes is set for October 16th at Saugeen Bluffs in Paisley
