World Series Game 6 Tonight

By Fred Wallace

Game 6 of the World Series goes tonight in New York.

The Yankees host Philadelphia with the Phillies trailing 3 games to 2.

I won't get to see the game as I'll be at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Center for the Attack game with Barrie, and truthfully, I won't be disappointed whatsoever about missing what could be the final game of the 2009 season.

And truthfully, I doubt Major League Baseball will miss me.

I honestly think the Majors and their late starting, never ending playoff format is designed for anyone but me.

First, it's November the 4th.

On the sporting calendar you're supposed to have the NHL, the NBA, big time NFL matchups, yet baseball has stretched their competitive season to have their biggest games in the very heart of the other Big 4 team sports seasons.

And two, with late starting times for TV and strategic managerial moves that prolong the games towards midnight, who can watch that long, who can watch that late ?

Not me. Not tonight. And not for Game 7 if the Phillies prolong it again.

I'm Fred Wallace
