Bench Talk / Off The Wire

Numbers 265, 3, 4 & 9

By Fred Wallace

Today we're going to talk about numbers.

The first number is 265.

That's the number of games that Marcus Carroll will have suited up for with the Owen Sound Attack as of tomorrow night when the Attack face Barrie.

At 265, Carroll bypasses " Boxcar " Willie Skilliter and becomes the Owen Sound franchise leader for games played in the OHL.

Ironically, Carroll will set the record against the Barrie Colts tomorrow, the team he made his OHL debut against September 22nd, 2005.

Number 1; he scored his first OHL goal that night, shorthanded, finishing a beautiful set up from Jeff Kryzakos.

Will he score again tomorrow night ?

The number I can't forsee, is Carroll's final tally for games played, potentially 312 if he runs the table, and it might be a number no one else comes close to.

Here's some more numbers.

Carroll has scored in 3 straight games, the Attack have won 3 straight games and while I'll allow you to say the win at Windsor was an upset, the bottom line is Owen Sound deserved all 3 W's and were the better team by far in the wins over Plymouth and St Mike's.

Finally, the numbers 4 & 9.

If Owen Sound wins their 4th straight tomorrow, they will equal their entire total from a miserable first quarter of the season and they will climb out of 9th into a 3 way tie for 7th.

Lots of numbers to crunch prior to the Attack trying to crunch the Colts tomorrow night.

I'm Fred Wallace
