Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire "
We all do this.
We all have these master plans, these grand plans, maybe basic plans, all of which are great in theory and then, mostly because we procrastinate or just daydream them away, they never come to pass.
For me, there is an allure of sports just below the big time.
For example, I had an eye opening and educational experience watching what was then known as " D League " Basketball courtside one night in Erie, Pennsylvania.
The Owen Sound Attack were in Erie a night early for a game against the Otters, and after dropping our gear in the Erie Insurance Arena, I stuck around and watched the Erie Baycats host Dayton.
Meanwhile, outside of the Erie Arena sits Jerry Uht Park, home of the Erie SeaWolves who are affiliated with the Detroit Tigers and before that, the Pittsburgh Pirates.
I've seen Erie in the Fall, the Winter & the Spring, but I've always imagined going in the Summer to see the SeaWolves and then going to the Plymouth Tavern post game on a day or night when the wind off Lake Erie isn't frigid.
Similar in Las Vegas.....
Before every Puppy White Tour, I checked the schedule for the Las Vegas team in the Pacific Coast League, be it the 51's previously, or the current Aviators.
But now, with Major League teams releasing nearly all of their minor league free agents and many being told that there will be no 2020 season whatsoever, another year will pass with no trip to see the SeaWolves, the Aviators or any other Minor League Baseball club.
