Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire. "
For the second time this season, the Hanover Curling Club will be hosting the Brokerlink Insurance Grey Bruce Major Curling League games tonight
Play starts at 9 pm this evening with 4 matchups, all of which have significance on the standings early in the season.
After 4 weeks of play what stands out is that every rinks in the league has tasted defeat at last once, and currently there are 6 rinks with 2 wins on their ledger.
The Al Hutchinson rink representing Ram Promotional leads the standings at 3 & 1 and the Hutchinson rink from Hanover may have home ice advantage tonight against Scott Davidson of Tara.
The Davidson rink is one of the group of 6 sitting with 2 victories early in the season
Along with Davidson, Joey Rettinger & Don Bartley of Tara, defending champion Brett McAllister from Chesley, Walkerton's Shawn Kaufman and the Mike Hamer from Port Elgin all have 4 points on the year.
The Hamer rink has the bye this week and will have to watch the proceedings as the congestion around them either moves up, or drops back based on tonight's results.
The key matchup of the 4 is Bartley for Absalute Automotive at 2 & 2 against the West Grey Premium Beef rink skipped by McAllister who sit at 2 & 1.
Again the first rock slides at 9 pm tonight in Hanover for Week 5 of the Brokerlink Insurance Grey Bruce Major Curling League.
