A couple of quick notes today.
First, the Randy " Rooster " McMillen Minor Lacrosse Memorial Fund deadline for submissions is tomorrow.
McMillen, who played Minor, Junior & Senior lacrosse through the years in Owen Sound and still has sons playing both Junior & Senior, has had a bursary established to sponsor an Owen Sound child who would like to play minor lacrosse, but may not have the financial resources to participate.
Again, the deadline for submissions is Friday.
On another minor lacrosse note, I had a great chat this week with Brad Caskanette.
Caskanette and his wife, Tammy, have stepped in to become the Tournament Chairs for the annual Harry Kazarian Memorial Minor Lacrosse Tournament.
This event has a lengthy and proud history, but someone has to organize it, and after decades at the helm, Wendy & Fred Cathrae stepped aside leaving a void that the Caskanettes have moved in to fill.
Brad tells me the tournament blueprint or template is in perfect order and they'll do their best to follow the guidelines and maintain the standard of quality the Kazarian Lacrosse Tournament has in the city and well beyond.
Which makes me wonder finally, how many other organizations, sports or otherwise, are in transition, or approaching a succession period, and are those blueprints and templates equally up to date ?
