Tara Goes Big Time

By Fred Wallace

The events just keep rolling in, don't they ?

We're just a few revved motors removed from the annual Tim Hortons Georgian Cup at Victoria Park in Owen Sound, but the activities are piling up like the snow last week.

In South Bruce Peninsula, this is the opener of 7 days of the annual Wiarton Willie Festival.

Have a great week and let's hope Willie nails it again this year.

Plus in Napanee, beginning this afternoon, the 2010 Ontario Men's Curling Championship begins at the Strathcona Paper Center.

The Mark Bice rink representing the Tara Curling Club will compete in a field against 10 of the best rinks in Ontario Men's Curling through the week.

Bice and the Tara Club open this afternoon at 2 pm against Joseph Frans of Thornhill.

Of course, the events will continue to roll as the days go by in 2010 and beyond.

One annual event, the Harry Kazarian Memorial Minor Lacrosse Tournament, is months away, but in terms of planning, they indicate they are in need of a Tournament Chairperson.

It's an important task spearheading the tournament which runs runs June 18th to the 20th in Owen Sound & area; a tournament that has a long and very proud history

For more information on the position and the tournament, contact Dan at 519-372-9928.

Enjoy Wiarton Willie's Festival, enjoy the the Ontario Curling Championship and enjoy your events and activities, whatever they may be.
