After a disheartening loss to Plymouth on Wednesday night, the Owen Sound Attack have to suck it up and go to war this weekend with the Guelph Storm.
The home and home with the Storm begins tonight at Guelph and then the rematch goes tomorrow night back here in Owen Sound at the J.D. McArthur Arena.
For the Storm this represents a major opportunity to get right into the thick of the chase should they sweep Owen Sound this weekend.
For the Attack, this is yet another opportunity to vanquish Guelph and conceivably deal them a crushing , if not finishing, blow to their playoff aspirations.
Make no mistake, this weekend will be a tell-tale one in the overall picture of who finishes where in the Western Conference.
And while, Sault Ste Marie, Saginaw and Erie are also in the mix of teams trying to wedge their way in to positions 5 through 8 in the West, it's fair to say those three have less threatening schedules this weekend.
The Greyhounds are on the road at Belleville, followed by a toughie at St Mike's
The Spirit go home & home with last place Sarnia
& the Otters complete home and home with the Eastern Conference cellar dwellers from Niagara and then conclude the weekend at home against Kingston.
Last night, the Greyhound slost in overtime, while the Storm, Spirit & Otters lost outright.
So for the Attack & Guelph their immediate and long term fortunes are in their own hands tonight in Guelph & tomorrow in Owen Sound.
