Is it me, or are all the really important Attack games on Wednesday nights this year ?
Tonight at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Center, the Owen Sounders will host the Plymouth Whalers in an OHL matchup that features two teams on the upswing.
After a miserable 1 & 7 start to the season, the Attack have persevered, they have points in their last 5 games and find themselves in 6th spot in the Western Conference as the Whalers come to town.
Plymouth, with a revitalized roster through trades, is on a 4 game winning streak and are 4th in the Western Conference and continually are projected as one of the very few teams that could upset Windsor should they meet in a playoff matchup.
Furthermore, an Attack-Whalers 1st Round Playoff matchup is not that much of a stretch at the moment.
But the playoffs are 2 months away, and for tonight both the Attack and the Whalers have further accomplishments in mind.
For Plymouth whose lineup includes Wasaga Beach native Tyler Brown & Garrett Meurs of Ripley, there's no way they can catch Windsor, but could they put heat on the Kitchener Rangers for the # 3 seed ?
For Owen Sound, victory has a dual impact.
A win for the Attack puts them a little further ahead of Saginaw & Erie and a lot further ahead of Guelph heading to their weekend home & home showdown against the Storm.
Yes, the playoffs are 2 months away, but on a Wednesday night in Owen Sound, there's a lot on the line tonight at the J.D, McArthur Arena
