Is it Curling Season ?
Rhetorical, I know.
Everywhere you look you've got curling news.
In the big time, Kevin Martin won the BDO Classic at Winnipeg beating the Glenn Howard rink from Coldwater 6-4 in the final.
Martin will carry Canada's hopes to the Olympic Games in Vancouver next month, one of the country's best chances for a first ever gold medal on home turf at the Olympics.
Meanwhile Howard will compete for the Ontario title at Napanee which begins on Monday.
At the Ontario Men's Championships at the Strathcona Paper Centre, Howard will be in a field of 11 teams including the Tara Curling Club which is skipped by Mark Bice.
Bice begins play Monday afternoon with his first of 10 round robin games against Joseph Frans from Thornhill.
And elsewhere, Al Hutchinson who's been to the Ontario Finals on occasion, skipped his Blue Water rink to the title at Super Spiel XXVIII in Port Elgin over the weekend.
Hutchinson, Barry Middleton, Dylan Tippin and Rob Lamont beat Peter Mellor of Kitchener 6-4 in the final to win the $ 5,000 first prize.
Martin, Howard, Bice, Hutchinson & more I've overlooked, you bet it's curling season.
