We never talk about the Greater Ontario Hockey League any more.
With the suspension of operations by the Owen Sound Greys, there's not much pertinent news this season for us, and truthfully, we wonder if there ever will be again.
Nevertheless, we did get a nice note last week about the Top Prospects Game for the G.O.J.H.L. which is set for tonight at Fort Erie.
Owen Sound netminder Jeff Flagler, a former Grey and Attack draft pick who plays now for the Cambridge Hawks, will compete in the Prospects Game tonight along with two Port Elgin Minor Hockey grads
Defenceman Kevin Czuczman who plays for Waterloo now and current Listowel Cyclones forward Miles MacLean of Port Elgin, will suit up on opposite sides for the game tonight.
As a side note to the affair, the game being hosted by the Fort Erie Meteors has a fundraising element to it.
Proceeds from the game tonight will be directed to the family of 7 year old Brandon Caruana who is dealing with a cancerous brain tumour
The game organizers have invited all of Brandon's schoolmates from Our Lady of Victory Junior School at Fort Erie as guests to the event & they truly hope that Brandon will be on hand to drop the puck at the ceremonial face-off prior to the start of the Prospects Game.
