Christmas Greed

By Fred Wallace

It's Christmas; the time of the year that Santa rewards the good kids for a year of above average behaviour.

You might remember 6 months ago, we did A Christmas-In-July segment on this feature and I asked for 3 presents from the Owen Sound Attack.

I wanted them to finish ahead of Guelph in the standings.

I wanted them to win their game at Belleville.

And I wanted them to beat the Kitchener Rangers in Owen Sound.

So far, the Attack have accomplished two of the 3 wishes.

The lone wish unfulfilled is beating Kitchener in Owen Sound, as the Rangers have won 10 in a row at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre, with just the February 20th date remaining.

Soooo, please, please beat Kitchener.

Otherwise, the Attack won at Belleville in what in fairness is an off year for the Bulls after 3 straight trips to the Eastern Conference Final.

And, currently the Attack lead Guelph in the standings, but in fairness again, Owen Sound has played 2 more games than Guelph, and the margin at the moment favours the Attack by just 3 points.

Sure it's Christmas, but is it wrong for me, & Attack fans, to get greedy and ask for a post Christmas present whereby the Attack find a consistent approach & in the process blow by Erie, Saginaw, Soo & Plymouth for a top 4 finish ?

Merry Christmas Attack & Attack fans.

Here's to an outstanding 2010 for the club.

I'm Fred Wallace
