It's hockey night in Owen Sound, with the Barrie Colts, one of the best clubs in the Ontario Hockey League, coming to the Bayshore for their final visit of the regular season.
The Colts are on a 17 game winning streak, which includes victories over the Attack in their last two meetings, both convincing victories in which the Attack managed just 1 goal in.
In fact in the 4 games against Barrie this year, Owen Sound has scored just 5 times.
As befits a team on a 17 game win streak, the Colts have aspirations of a lengthy run, if not a championship season.
And the parts are certainly there to justify those desires.
What thickens the plot regarding tonight's game is that Barrie has made less than subtle overtures about acquiring a player from the Attack to further solidify their squad.
For Owen Sound's part, their 2-1 victory over Barrie on Thanksgiving Monday here, makes the Attack just one of 4 teams to beat Barrie in regulation on the year.
So it's an interesting match tonight.
The Attack, winners of 6 of their last 8 games, hosting red-hot Barrie on a 17 game win streak with the possibility of trade talks before, or after the game.
Game time tonight is 7 pm at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre.
