To me it looks like we've got a couple of things happening here as it pertains to Junior Fastball and hosting the Canadian Championship Tournament for a third straight year in Owen Sound.
In sector 1, the Owen Sound bid is in place, the Softball Canada Junior Men's Championship rights are once again without an existing bid and so, " A " leads to " B " and we can think about a three-peat @ Duncan McLellan Park.
In sector 2, that sector belonging to the organizing committee, they admit there's no existing bid for Softball Canada, but, they claim it's quite premature to link Owen Sound and the local committee to a bid to Softball Canada.
Yet the rumblings persist, even as we speak today, there are plans afoot on many levels.
The Brick Brothers Volkswagen Midgets want to hook up with the Keady Jets and create a single Midget team.
The graduates from the Volkswagen Midgets are good players, but are they good enough to play for the Volkswagen Juniors next season ?
And if the Volkswagen Junior Selects pick up some elite out-of-towners, will it not bump some existing players off the roster ?
Therefore, there is a thought stream to having TWO Owen Sound Junior entries; one to compete and one to act as the host team.
Does that amount of preparation sound premature, or does it sound like an organization that's preparing to bid to host a third consecutive Canadian Junior Men's Championship ?
