Jersey HangUp

Owen Sound | by Fred Wallace

Interview with Bug Juice NorthStars lacrosse Advisor John Lovell

The Owen Sound Bug Juice Senior NorthStars and the Ontario Lacrosse Association were at odds over the :" new " NorthStars jerseys.

The new jerseys, which featured the " Bug Juice " name more prominently than either " Owen Sound " or the traditional NorthStars logo, weren't well received within the local lacrosse community.

Furthermore, the numbers on the new jersey were almost obscured by the " Bug Juice " logo.

The Ontario Lacrosse Association reportedly threatened to fine the NorthStars $ 100 for every player that wore the new jersey in a game, and also reportedly threatened to have any NorthStar game points forfeited IF they wore the new jerseys.

On another note, NorthStars Team President Adam McKeachnie resigned this week, and while he confirmed his departure from the organization, he would not comment on whether his resignation was connected to the jersey issue.

Thursday, neither the OLA nor the NorthStars were willing to comment on the dispute to 560 CFOS.

Today, John Lovell, the lacrosse advisor for NorthStars owner Joe Norton, spoke to Fred Wallace about the issue.

John Lovell was asked what jerseys the NorthStars would be wearing in their home opener Saturday night against Ennismore.

The Bug Juice Senior NorthStars play their home opening weekend against Ennismore Saturday night at 8 and Sunday afternoon at 2 pm

You can hear both games live on 560 CFOS with Shorty's-Joe's Garage NorthStar Radio
