Two big games against divisional foes are on deck for the Owen Sound Attack this weekend, as the battle for the final two playoff spots in the Ontario Hockey League’s Western Conference continues.
The Attack (23-33-4-3) currently sit in the eighth and final playoff spot, one point ahead of the Soo Greyhounds (24-35-2-2) and one point behind seventh-place Sarnia Sting (21-30-5-7). All three teams have five games remaining.
Friday night, the Attack are set to head down Highway 6 to take on the Guelph Storm (18-35-5-4). Guelph has lost eight in a row and fallen eight points back of the Attack … and while they haven’t been officially eliminated, the Storm playoff hopes have dimmed significantly in the past week.
Owen Sound will have to win Friday to keep pace with at least one of the two teams they’re battling for one of the final two playoff spots, as Soo and Sarnia faceoff tonight.
Saturday, the Attack return home to host the Kitchener Rangers (44-13-4-2) at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre. Game time tomorrow is 7 p.m.
