Meaford is looking to appoint an interim fire chief.
Council approved appointing an interim fire chief during its meeting on Monday as Courtney Allen is set lead the King Township Fire Department next month.
Meaford’s Director of Human Resources and Community Services Sarah Mahon thanked Allen for his role with the local fire department.
“He has been an absolute integral part of the team and he has always led with professionalism and his expertise and an unwavering commitment to the safety of our residents. His efforts have made a lasting impact on our municipality and I know that his legacy will be felt for years to come,” says Mahon.
She adds they will potentially appoint Meaford’s Deputy Fire Chief Rob Pilon to the role.
Coun. Harley Greenfield says, “I wholeheartedly agree with this appointment. We are in very safe hands and we will move forward with this appointment.”
Allen, who has been with the Meaford Fire Department for four years, is set to start his new role with the GTA township on Feb. 1.
