Grey County has given final approval to its 2025 budget.
It’s a $302.4 million operating and capital budget that includes $78.3 million collected through local taxes.
It represents a 3.33 per cent tax increase which is equivalent to $13.46 for every $100,000 of residential assessment, or $38.91 dollars for the average single detached home in Grey County.
The largest portions of the budget go to long-term care (33%) and transportation services (22%) which includes road maintenance and road work.
Highlights include the ongoing redevelopment and expansion of Rockwood Terrace long-term care home in Durham, the construction of a paramedic base in Durham and a new paramedic base in Feversham, a new patrol depot for transportation services in southern Grey County, and other projects.
