Collingwood OPP say that a Toronto resident is facing charges following a crash caused by impaired driving.
Just before 11 o’clock Thursday night, police were called to a single-vehicle collision at First Street and Pine Street.
Officers arrived finding that the vehicle had destroyed the centre traffic light. Following their investigation, they charged the 33-year-old novice driver.
The driver is charged with:
- Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs (Criminal Code)
- Operation while Impaired – blood alcohol concentration – 80 plus (Criminal Code)
- Novice drive – blood alcohol concentration above zero (Highway Traffic Act)
Their driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle impounded. They’re expected in court on February 11th.
