A good dump of snow is expected ib parts of Bruce and Grey counties today.
Environment Canada has issued snow squall warnings for northern Grey County, including Owen Sound, as well as the Saugeen Shores and Kincardine areas, and southern Bruce County.
Forecasters say 10-20 centimetres of snow could fall in areas hit by squalls. Environment Canada says the highest snowfall amounts are expected between Meaford and Craigleith.
“Lake effect snow squalls will continue to affect the area today. Heavy snow and local blowing snow can be expected at times,” Environment Canada says in its warning. “The snow squalls are expected to ease to lake effect flurries this afternoon or early this evening.”
Travel is expected to become challenging around the region due to snow squalls and blowing snow.
“Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations,” Enviroment Canada says in a statement.
