An Owen Sound man has won $1 million playing the lottery.
Barry Anstett won the Triple Millions top prize in the August 29, 2024 main draw.
Anstett, who is 56, has been playing the lottery with OLG for the past couple of years.
He enjoys playing Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49, using OLG’s Quick Pick feature to make his selections. Barry is delighted to share the news of his first big win, courtesy of OLG’s limited-time lottery game, Triple Millions.
“I was at the store when I scanned my ticket and discovered my win,” Anstett recalled, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his windfall. “I was certainly surprised and a little anxious, but very excited as well.”
“I shared the news with my family, and while they didn’t believe me at first, they were thrilled for me,” said Anstett.
“I plan to let this win sink in a bit before making any decisions about what comes next. For now, I’ll carry on as usual,” he concluded.
The winning ticket was purchased at Canadian Tire Gas+ on Balsam Street in Collingwood.
