The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with impaired driving related charges after an e-bike was stopped for inspection.
On November 27, 2024, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Huronia West OPP officers stopped an e-bike on Main Street, Wasaga Beach, to confirm compliance of operation. Officers noted an odour of alcohol on the driver and conducted an impaired driving investigation.
As a result a 53-year-old of Scarborough, was arrested and has been charged with the following:
· Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
· Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
· Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code
The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
