Owen Sound Police say a man was arrested for a third time in three days, after being caught with stolen credit cards downtown last night.
City police say they were contacted around 11 p.m. Monday after credit cards were nabbed from an unlocked vehicle in the area of former Ryerson Park — at the bottom of the hill on 8th Street East.
“As part of their investigation, police attended a nearby convenience store and identified the man responsible for theft, who had just used the victim’s credit card to purchase goods,” Owen Sound Police say in a release. “The man was arrested and transported to the Owen Sound Police Service.”
Police say the accused, who was not identified, has been charged with theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime and unauthorized use of a credit card.
City Police say Monday’s incident was the third time the man has been arrested and charged for property crimes in Owen Sound in the past three days.
He is being held in custody pending an appearance in bail court.
