Meaford is inviting residents to take in the holiday season with some upcoming events.
The holiday festivities will include a tree lighting and window display on Nov. 28 at 5:30 p.m. at Meaford Hall as the municipality flips the switch for the Christmas tree. Following the lighting of the tree, people can tour downtown for the Meaford Memories window displays created by local businesses to commemorate Meaford’s 150 anniversary and the holiday.
Then between Nov. 29 and Jan. 3, decorated wreaths will be displayed by local businesses, and people will be able to vote for their favourite here.
On Nov. 30 at Meaford Hall, take in a family holiday movie with a screening of Disney’s The Santa Clause at 6:30 p.m. Before the film, attendees can play some games at 5:30 p.m. More details on the free event can be found on the Meaford Hall website here.
Residents can then support the Meaford Food Bank by helping fill a sleigh on Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Red Apple along Highway 26 with donations of non-perishable food items.
