Owen Sound Attack goaltender Carter George has been named the Ontario Hockey League’s goaltender of the week.
George, 18, made headlines around hockey by scoring an empty-net goal in Owen Sound’s 4-1 win over the Peterborough Petes last Thursday. It was the first time a goaltender scored in Attack franchise history.
The Thunder Bay native and Los Angeles Kings prospect also posted a 2.46 goals against average and .931 save percentage over the team’s three-game eastern trip to Peterborough, Kingston and Ottawa. He appeared in all three games, starting in two of them.
