Holiday magic is set to descend on Owen Sound today.
Following the second annual HockeyFest game between the Waterloo Warriors and the Laurier Golden Hawks at 2 p.m. at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre, people can visit downtown Owen Sound for some holiday fun.
The River District will be holding its Holiday Magic event from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., which will include outdoor seating, fire tables, photos with Santa, contests, giveaways, specials and sales at local businesses.
Then the annual Kiwanis Santa Claus parade will be marching along 2nd Avenue East from the Metro to the Farmers’ Market starting at 5 p.m.
The evening will end with the Festival of Northern Lights ceremony at 6 p.m., which will feature a dance party as well as drinks and snacks before the lights turn on at 7 p.m.
