It was a tough night for the Attack.
Maleek McGowan scored twice as part of a four-goal first period for the Kingston Frontenacs, who went on to beat the Owen Sound Attack 7-1 in Ontario Hockey League action Friday night at Slush Puppie Place.
Riley Clark, Gage Heyes, Nolan Buttar and Tyler Hopkins also scored for Kingston (12-5-4), who won their fourth straight game.
Sam McCue had the lone goal for the Attack (6-10-2-2).
Kingston led 4-0 after one and 6-1 after two.
The loss ended a long point streak for Attack teams in Kingston. Prior to Friday, the last time the Attack lost in regulation in Kington was in 2011. They had been 10-0-0-1 since.
Matthew Koprowski made 14 saves in the loss. Carter George stopped 25 of the 26 he faced after coming on in relief in the second period. Mason Vaccari made 37 saves in the win.
Kingston outshot Owen Sound 46-38. The Frontenacs did not have a power play opportunity. Owen Sound went 0 for 3.
