Barrie Police have impounded a street sweeper and charged its operator with impaired driving.
Police responded last night to Lockhart Road in Barrie – The street sweeper was seen being driven erratically – into oncoming traffic before leaving the road and becoming stuck in a ditch,
When police arrived, the operator of the street sweeper was trying to remove it from the ditch. Police say the 35 year old male exhibited obvious signs of impairment.
Police note the driver was employed by a private company based in the GTA and his reason for being in Barrie is not yet known.
