Donald Trump is returning to the White House.
The Associated Press and major United States television networks called the election early Wednesday morning after the former president surpassed 270 projected electoral votes.
Trump secured wins in key swing states Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Georgia and North Carolina. He was leading in the three other main battleground states Michigan, Arizona and Nevada as of 6:30 a.m.
Trump is also projected to win the popular vote, and would be the first Republican to do so since 2004.
Democrat nominee Kamala Harris hasn’t spoken yet, but her campaign says she will later today.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau congratulated Trump on the election win in a social media post.
“The friendship between Canada and the U.S. is the envy of the world. I know President Trump and I will work together to create more opportunity, prosperity, and security for both of our nations,” Canada’s Prime Minister says in the post.
