Dufferin OPP are investigating a homicide investigation that started with an armed robbery at a gas station in Amaranth.
At around 11:40 pm on October 7th, police were called to the service station on County Road 109.
The victim suffered a life-threatening injury after shots were fired by the suspect. The victim, who was a 25-year-old from Amaranth, was airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre via Air Ornge, where he later died from his injuries.
Police are looking for the suspect, who was wearing a dark-coloured, three-quarter length winter jacket with a fur hood, black pants, black shoes, and a blue medical mask.
The investigation is ongoing by the Dufferin OPP Crime Unit under the direction of the Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance from the OPP Emergency Response Unit, OPP Canine Unit, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
