New Ownership – Cathi & Nathan Parrish
Exciting News Everyone! There have been some big changes happening within the Knight’s Hockey Organization since the beginning of 2024 that we would officially like to share with you all.
Meaford Knights Hockey has been in existence for 11 seasons, having seen over 300 players from all over the world, including Switzerland, Canada, USA, Sweden, Belarus, England, Northern Ireland, Germany, Russia, Mexico, Australia and beyond come to play hockey in the Georgian Bay community of Meaford.
Formerly owned by the Chollet Family, led by Sabine Chollet, until March of 2020 when COVID forced Sabine to return to Switzerland. You could often find her at the arena cheering on “her boys”. Sabine has unfortunately been unable to return to Canada due to health reasons and was forced to make the difficult decision to part ways with the Organization she held so close to her heart.
In January 2024, Nathan and Cathi Parrish became the new owners of the Team and have continued to operate the team as Sabine would have wanted. Nathan has been with the Meaford Knights since it’s inception, holding positions of Head Coach, General Manager and Assistant Coach throughout the years.
Nathan is very excited to be taking on the role of Ownership and is very much looking forward to his first full season as Owner & GM.
Nathan had this to say: “Meaford is a very supportive Community and has always had the best fans in the league. As an organization, we have the very best staff, Craig Cescon – Head Coach, Dan Smith – Director of Scouting, Kathy Adams – Billet Coordinator, Krista Young – Marketing and Trainer, Dylan Dunlop – Photographer/Videographer, Kim & AND Linda McKay – Game Day Operations, Rick Willis and Nick Galbraith – Equipment Co-Managers.”
The organization is very grateful to the many local sponsors and the Community as a whole and we hope the steadfast support continues as we truly believe that Meaford Knights Hockey brings great value to the community in many ways, tourism, volunteering and giving back in various capacities such as Christmas on the Bay, Scarecrow Festival, the Food Bank and the Nursing Home to name a few.
Without a doubt, we can not forget our highly valued Billet Homes. These generous families open their homes and hearts to the players and provide unwavering support as host families and fans.
We are looking forward to our first full season with local ownership with the best interests of the community as a whole at the centre of our operations. We can’t wait to see you all at the rink!
