The Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre is ending off the summer with a bang.
On Aug. 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the museum will hold a special day of cultural demonstrations all about local Indigenous heritage.
The event will feature local and celebrated Chef Zack Keeshig where he will showcase how he processes locally harvested duck from forest to plate, and attendees will get to sample his creations.
Parks Canada will also be present representing Bruce Peninsula National Park and Fathom Five National Marine Park. The organization will talk about turtles, their conservation as well as their cultural significance for the Saugeen Ojibway Nation people.
Saugeen First Nation Elder Shirley John will join the event at the Anishnaabwe Endaat Gallery to share her teachings.
The museum will also welcome Saugeen First Nation Author Dorothy Ladd for a reading of the illustrated Memengwaa, the Monarch Butterfly. The Southampton Horticultural Society and Patti Byers from the Monarch Teacher Network will also talk about the butterfly tagging process.
Preregistration is not needed for the event.
