The Wiarton Homecoming celebration has a lineup of activities for the Civic Holiday long weekend.
Much of the action will be in Bluewater Park, but downtown will also have a big sidewalk sale on Saturday, August 3rd.
The weekend’s events include a baseball tournament Friday.
Saturday has , games and tournaments, bingo, market vendors, a classic car show, hospital foundation draw, an outdoor movie night, a beer garden, pig roast, karaoke, sidewalk sale and a drone light show at 9:30.
Sunday’s activities include a pancake breakfast more tournaments and games, a fish fry, beer gardens, karaoke and classical music at the bandshell.
Ruck to Remember, a group which walks and fundraises for veterans will have a V.E.T. (Veteran Entrepreneur Trade) Market featuring veteran owned and operated businesses.
They are also planning a military style fitness competition is now open for August 5th in Bluewater Park which will include a ruck (walking while carrying a weighted pack), push-ups, sit-ups and a tug-of-war tournament.
Proceeds from Ruck to Remember’s fundraising efforts go towards Operation Leave the Streets Behind, which helps veterans who are experiencing homelessness, or a risk of homelessness.
