Volunteers in Waubaushene will be ridding part of Georgian Bay of a pesky invasive plant later this month.
The annual community cut will take place July 25th, where Phragmites will be removed from the dock and beach area at the foot of Pine Street.
The event is hosted by the conservation group Georgian Bay Forever, and equipment will be provided.
It’s recommended volunteers bring gloves, waders and/or shoes for working in the water, along with water to drink, sunscreen, hat, bug spray and whatever else needed for working outdoors.
In case of a thunderstorm and/or heavy rainfall, the event will be rescheduled to the next day.
It takes place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and you’ll find more details here.
