Owen Sound Police have charged a woman with impaired driving after a teenager was struck by a vehicle.
City Police say they responded to the collision near 4th Avenue West and 16th Street West around 3:40 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
“It was reported that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle that then fled the scene,” Owen Sound Police say in a release.
Grey County paramedics attended to the 14-year-old, who was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
Police say the driver was located in a west side residential area. Officers allegedly found she was impaired by alcohol and arrested her.
“After providing samples of her breath into an approved (instrument), the results showed that the blood alcohol levels of the driver were more than three times the legal limit,” police say.
The 47-year-old woman was charged with operation while impaired, dangerous driving causing bodily harm and other offences.
