Bruce County is holding a household hazardous waste collection event this weekend in Southampton.
People will be able to get rid of their hazardous waste from their homes, garages and basements on Saturday, May 4th at the Works Yard at 429 Peel Street from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in an environmentally safe manner.
Hazardous waste materials include propane tanks, used oil, aerosols, batteries, antifreeze, and household cleaners, with a full list available on the county website here.
Only containers with a volume of 30 litres or less will be accepted, but commercial, agricultural, and industrial waste, as well as ammunition, and flares will not be taken.
Waste must be given to staff in containers which can be disposed of as they will not be emptied and returned.
