Grey County is going to review a proposed subdivision plan for part of the former Talisman resort lands, which will include up to 370 units.
The Beaver Valley Development Group subdivision proposal includes blocks for residential, recreation, and mixed-use development, with additional space for future development, natural heritage, open space, and stormwater management.
A report from Director of Planning Scott Taylor says access to the proposed subdivision will be from Grey Road 7 off the existing Talisman Mountain Drive.
The subject lands for the proposed development is 30.48 hectares in size and only a portion of it is being looked at for development, with much of the lands remaining as natural heritage or open space.
“These lands are below the former ski hill that was previously used as part of the Talisman development which also included a golf course. The former ski resort buildings are in separate ownership, and not a part of the current plan of subdivision application,” says the report from Taylor.
Grey Highlands sold its portion of the former Talisman Resort lands to Westway Capital in 2022, a deal that was met with some opposition from local environmental activists.
Council will be receiving the plan for the proposed development for information during its meeting on April 11 at 10:15 a.m.
