D.C. Taylor Jewellers is consolidating its two stores in Owen Sound, and will close its downtown location this summer.
A company statement says the business has outgrown its original downtown location, which was founded in 1895 by David Creighton Taylor as a “humble watch-making shop.”
The company says the Owen Sound Plaza store at 1171 16th Street East will provide more square footage to expand the retail store to showcase jewellery, grow its service departments, and provide less wait times for clients.
Owner David Taylor says all staff will be retained as it consolidates the two stores.
“The plaza store will undergo renovations to expand our fabrication department, as well as to align with the recent rebranding of D.C. Taylor Jewellers,” says Taylor. “A grand re-opening will take place later in the year once all services have moved locations.”
The move will happen in July and the downtown location be going up for lease.
