The Bruce County Public Library is offering a chance for residents to recycle their used batteries.
The library has partnered with Raw Materials Company and is offering a chance to drop off batteries at each of its 17 locations.
The batteries that are collected are processed at RMC’s location in Port Colborne, Ontario, and are disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.
All batteries require end-of-life management in the province of Ontario.
RMC separates battery components into metals, minerals, plastic, and paper, and 100% of each battery is re-used so that no part reaches the landfill.
Anyone in Bruce County can drop their used batteries off at their local library branch during regular business hours, free of charge.
