A number of people have already put their names forward to be considered as a candidate for the open council seat in South Bruce Peninsula.
Council is taking applications to fill a seat by appointment after Caleb Hull vacated his seat to become deputy mayor, following the appointment of previous deputy mayor Jay Kirkland to mayor after Garry Michi resigned from his position as head of council.
So far, eight people have submitted letters of interest: Daniel Evan Lisk , Paul Stephen Deacon, William Klingenberg, Glenn Darrell Holst, Christine Shirley Thomas, Mary E. Hanlon, Ann Marie Hadcock and James Edward Turner.
Letters of interest are being accepted until January 4th at 2 p.m., but they must be filed in person at town hall, which is closed for the holidays and reopens January 2nd.
