Local businesses that are looking to hire students next summer may be eligible for a grant, and there is a virtual employer information session for those who would like to learn how to apply for it.
It’s open to not-for-profits, the public sector, and private businesses with 50 or fewer full-time employees. The program provides wage subsidies to employers for young people aged 15 to 30.
Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MP Alex Ruff will be hosting the information session with Service Canada on Monday, December 18th.
It helps employers better understand how to apply for the grant and what the program wants successful applicants to demonstrate, which includes things like health and safety practices, work environment policies, supervision and mentoring plans and skills development plans.
Service Canada representatives will provide an overview of the application process followed by a question-and-answer period.
You can register at the following link for the information session: www.alexruffmp.ca/csj.
Once registered, registrants will receive a link to join a MS Teams call on Monday December 18, 2023 at 1:00pm
