Northern Bruce Peninsula is going to consider buying a almost $250,000 excavator this week.
The municipality recently enrolled into the Canoe Procurement Group of Canada buying program, a not-for-profit organization tailored to municipalities.
The municipality invited Toromont Cat through the program to provide a quotation for a hydraulic excavator and a Brandt tractor
The cost of each comes to almost $246,000 and $over $307,000 respectively.
As there is only $250,000 included in the 2023 municipal budget to replace the current 2010 hydraulic excavator, Public Works Manager Troy Cameron recommends council authorize the purchase of the 2023 hydraulic excavator.
Council will consider this item during its meeting on Nov. 27 at 1 p.m.
