Huntsville Hospital Auxiliary is happy to announce they are the most recent partner to join the Huntsville Hospital Foundation’s Business Cares Program. Their commitment to Huntsville Hospital is an investment in our community which will help improve healthcare for all residents.
The Huntsville and District Memorial Hospital Auxiliary was formed in 1955 primarily as a support group for hospital staff. Through the years they began to raise money an assist financially via various public events, the Branches Gift Shop, and more recently the 50/50 Lottery. In co-operation with the Hospital and Board of Directors, the Auxiliary supports health care at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Site through education, fundraising opportunities, and the promotion of volunteer services to people.
Susan Love, Auxiliary President, told the foundation: “Working with the Foundation over the last two years has been very rewarding and exciting. I am in awe of what these ladies do every day and applaud them for their successful efforts throughout the Digital Imaging Campaign. Kudos to you all!”
Katherine Craine explained: “We are the ones in awe of what the Auxiliary members have accomplished over the years for our hospital, they are truly inspirational! Our partnership with them on their 50/50 draw over the last few years is just one example of how we can work together for a common goal, supporting Healthcare for Life, here.”
Huntsville Hospital Foundation in partnership with their Business Cares Committee officially launched their new “Business Cares” initiative in January 2016 with the goal of enrolling forty businesses in the community. They are very happy to report that they have surpassed their goal. Their plan is to continue with this successful imitative, as they have many businesses expressing interest in joining the Business Cares community. Since its inception, over sixty local businesses have committed to donating $25,000 or more over the next five years for Healthcare for life, here. Many of those businesses have renewed their first pledge and have signed on for another five years.
Pat Dubé Committee Chair, is joined by Committee Members Chantelle Armstrong, Katherine Craine, Mike Harrower and Trish Kruusmagi who are very active in pursuing new Business Cares Partners, and exploring more, much needed support for Huntsville Hospital.
Pat Dubé sends this message: “The ability of a community to invest in its own health and future for our neighbours, our families and everyone who visits here is evident in the support of local business leaders. I’m sure you share my profound gratitude to them all. We’re great when we work together – that’s Business Cares.”
