Two public meetings are being held this week to gather public input on downtown parking in Saugeen Shores.
The Town says it’s developing parking strategies for Port Elgin & Southampton’s downtown areas.
They’re looking to see if they should expand the supply of parking to address peak demands on summer weekends.
They’re also asking if there are different ways to manage parking supply to avoid the cost of building new municipal lots.
Are there innovative ways to improve the parking experience for visitors, customers, and employees in the downtown areas?
They’re also asking, “With all the changes influencing travel behaviour today, what does the future of parking look like and how do we prepare for it?”
Residents are invited to two events to share their parking experiences and provide suggestions on how to improve those experiences.
There is a pop-up event at Coulter Parkette in Port Elgin today until 3 p.m.
There will also be a public information event at the Rotary Hall upstairs at the Plex from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
There will be a presentation at 5:30 p.m., and then again at 6:30 p.m.
