The Simcoe-Muskoka area is being affected by smoke from forest fires burning in Northern Ontario and Quebec.
Monday morning, Environment Canada issued a special air quality statement for Muskoka.
The agency says smoke is causing or expected to cause poor air quality and reduced visibility.
The statement indicates Air quality and visibility due to wildfire smoke can fluctuate over short distances and can vary considerably from hour to hour.
But wildfire smoke can be harmful to everyone’s health even at low concentrations.
The website Firesmoke.ca forecasts wildfire smoke will affect central Ontario in varying concentrations throughout Monday and Tuesday.
