West Grey is going to consider requesting a zoning bylaw amendment this week for subject lands tied to a proposed subdivision development.
Council will be receiving a report during its meeting on June 6 from Manager of Planning and Development Lorelie Spencer. It recommends directing staff to bring forward a by-law to authorize the passing of a zoning bylaw amendment.
The report says the subject lands to be included in the amendment are within the geographic township of Glenelg, but the property is within the area of the Town of Durham.
It adds draft plan approval for the subdivision, which includes the placement of up to 205 residential units consisting of 118 single detached dwelling units, and five blocks for up to about 87 townhouse dwellings, or a minimum of 49 townhouse units, was granted on the subject lands in June 2021.
Changes, however, to the draft plan are included in the report to create additional housing units, including having 46 single detached dwelling units to be replaced with 28 semi-detached dwelling units and 38 townhouse units.
The report says access to the proposed development is provided through the extension of Jackson Street and two entrances from Durham Road East. The draft plan approval also included four new streets, some of which have been named. One block was approved for stormwater management and another for parkland purposes.
Council will be considering this report during its meeting on June 6 at 9 a.m.
