Students and staff have returned to the classroom at Grey Highlands Secondary School in Flesherton following an evacuation earlier this morning due to a potential gas leak.
A source with a child who attends the school says the students exited the building around 9:45 a.m.
Bluewater District School Board Communications Officer Jamie Pettit confirms everyone was “safely evacuated from the building” after an odour was detected. The Grey Highlands Fire Department was contacted and attended the scene.
In an email, Pettit says the school was given the all clear from the Grey Highlands Fire Department and Enbridge Gas.
Students are back in class and Pettit says they are awaiting a follow up.
Bayshore Broadcasting News reached out to the Grey Highlands Fire Department for more information.
