A company with ties to Owen Sound is being named one of the top 10 companies in Canada as a sustainability changemaker.
Key DH Technologies Inc. (KEY), which has one of its main operating companies Hydrogen Optimized in Owen Sound, was awarded this distinction for the second consecutive year by Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC).
SDTC is a federal government foundation, which is used to fund new clean technology.
Chairman, President and CEO of KEY Andrew Stuart says, they are proud to be recognized by SDTC as a Canada Sustainability Changemaker for the second consecutive year.
“Receiving this award reinforces how our green deuterium and green hydrogen products are changing the sustainability game for companies in the clean hydrogen, life sciences and high technology industries around the world,” says Stuart.
KEY was evaluated based on five pieces of criteria, including steady annual revenues of over $10 million, a compound annual growth rate of 20 per cent or more over the last three years, sustainable benefits and impact, a global footprint, and a Canadian presence and contribution to the local economy with at least half the workforce and significant operations based in Canada and with demonstrated job growth.
Hydrogen Optimized recently announced they had partnered with a Texas based company to work on developing green technology.
SDTC CEO Leah Lawrence says, “with their patented water electrolysis systems for the large-scale production of green hydrogen, KEY is creating highly skilled jobs in Canada and showed significant revenue growth.”
