Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital is lobbying the province to get moving on plans for a new facility.
Officials have launched their “Start Today, Serve Tomorrow” campaign, and they’re looking for 5 to 10 million dollars in funding to pay for detailed designs for a new hospital. So far the hospital has done preliminary master-planning.
The hospital is urging local residents and business owners to contact their MPP and ask that funding be set aside in the upcoming Ontario budget.
Rapid growth in the area means the existing hospital is under strain and having difficulty keeping up with demand.
